All new EU cars to be fitted with speed limiters
Welcome to another step towards people having their lives controlled.
From next month, it will be mandatory for all new cars introduced on the market to have a speed limiter, and all new cars sold from July 2024 must have it.
They say this is to among other things to reduce traffic accidents and to save the environment.
“The objective is to protect Europeans against traffic accidents, poor air quality and climate change, empower them with new mobility solutions that match their changing needs, and defend the competitiveness of European industry.”
It is named ”Intelligent Speed Assist” and there are several different ways that it can work.
Cars will have a camera onboard that reads the speed signs and uses GPS data to figure out what the speed limit is, and then either limit your speed or give warnings in several different ways.
Car manufacturers have several different options to choose from to implement their Intelligent Speed Assist system.
1. Cascaded acoustic warning.
2. Cascaded vibrating warning.
3. Haptic feedback through the acceleration pedal.
4. Speed control function.
In other words, you can expect to get blinking lights, warning sounds, the gas pedal pushing back against you or the gas pedal vibrating. Or the engine could simply just cut it’s power.
Imagine a seat belt warning system, only much more intrusive (always wear your seat belts folks, but I don’t need my car to tell me that!)
The Intelligent Speed Assist system can however be overridden if the driver chooses to ignore the warnings.
This is the kind of thing that people would have joked about years ago. We are seeing evermore and increasing government control in peoples lives.
Imagine it is the year 2035. You jump in your car to go for a drive, but a warning message appears on the screen informing you that you have reached the monthly driving limit. In order to reduce carbon emissions you are now locked out of your car for the rest of the month.
Or perhaps a message appears on your screen when you go to charge your now mandatory electric vehicle. You posted something on social media that was deemed ”misinformation” and you have been banned from charging your car for 3 days. This is where we are headed folks.
Oh, on that topic of mandatory electric vehicles. Did you know that in Britain, new gasoline and diesel cars will be banned from sale in just 8 years? That’s right. Britain is banning the sale of new cars with combustion engines from 2030 (hybrids will still be allowed for a few more years).
They are banning traditional vehicles and they are limiting how people can drive. This is just another way to limit people’s freedom of movement.
Socialism doesn’t like freedom.
You see, in Socialist countries like Sweden, they have always pushed really hard for public transport likes buses. The same happened in Communist countries like the Soviet Union. Cars were only for the elite. The rest of the common people had to use public transport, and there is a very good reason for this.
With public transport, your freedom of movement is limited to where the government wants you to go. You can go from point a to point b as planned by the state. But if you have a car, you can go where ever you like. The state cannot control you.

Driving a car is the ultimate expression of freedom. You can go anywhere. This is the real reason why they are cracking down on cars. First they make it really expensive. Then they want to ban them in the name of climate change, with the replacement being totally inadequate electric cars.
Electric cars as the technology is currently, are not nearly as good as real cars. Despite years of trying to improve range, the fact remains that range is still poor compared to traditional cars and the time of recharging them is painstakingly long. With a gasoline car, you can just fill up and be ready to go in 5 minutes giving you hundreds of miles of range.
With an electric car, you can have decent range now, but then it takes upwards an hour of recharging, and that is with a supercharger. Effectively, an electric car is very limiting on your freedom of movement, which is probably a reason why they are banning traditional cars.
And here is the thing. If you look at the actual facts when it comes to carbon emissions that they are so concerned about, it takes much more carbon emissions to produce an electric car than a traditional car. In fact, it takes years of driving with an electric vehicle to make up for all the extra C02 that was emitted when it was produced, and that is assuming the electricity comes from things like solar or wind power, which it often is not…
Back to the speed limiter. Did you notice they said one reason for this was to save the environment? Having people drive slower on the roads for less emissions.
I am all for taking care of the planet. Reducing one time use plastics for example is a good thing. Not dumping toxic waste is a good thing. But now they are using the excuse of climate change in order to bring about more control.
I’m more worried about Global Communism than Global warming.
